Earth Federation Mobile Suits
The Earth Federation Forces were founded in 2037 after the consolidation of the militaries of Earth. During the 2050-80 period, multiple nations split from the Federation, forming their own MS corps. One example was the British-led Atlantic Federation, which produced the GAT-X series of Mobile Suits and the United Emirates of Orb, which created.
A lot of the remnants seemed to be true believers and fanatics (Look at the Delaz Fleet and Gato for the examples of that). If i had to guess you probably had like 90% of the ZMF post war just going home and trying to live their lives. The issue is that while Zeon was pretty outright worse, their opponent wasn't exactly the. Best government either, even by comparison to say, modern nation-states. There was a class divide-or, perhaps, the perception of a class divide-that many in the colonies felt kept them down for the prosperity of those living on Earth. Couple that with however many war-crimes the Titans committed and you can see how space ended up being a hotbed for insurgency. Zeon became this ghost that haunted the Earth Sphere, remembered as 'those who fought for freedom' by the disenfranchised.
Not exactly true, mind you, but that's the myth people clung to.And of course, you had the actual Zeon remnants who capitalized on this for the 'good' of the cause, and that's how the shambling corpse of Neo Zeon managed to trudge on nearly seventeen years after the war ended. As for the leaders taking advantage of the discontented-motivations vary, but honestly? Most of them were messed up in the head, either from the war or its after-effects. From what I understand Haman cracked under the pressure of having to rule Axis from a young age and raise the Zabi heir (and some other stuff I'm somewhat unclear on). Char's a basket case of daddy and mommy issues, a practically suicidal man drifting from cause to cause to try and fill the emptiness. Full Frontal's pretty much the same with a side of Cloning Blues.
Glemy was just a psychopathic clone of space-Hitler, though. The irony here is that just as the leaders of Neo Zeon were manipulating those with nothing to lose with the ghost of Zeon, they themselves were reliant on it as a crutch. So to answer your question, I suppose it would be appropriate to say most weren't outright evil people, so much as a combination of the downtrodden and people broken by the actions of the original Zeon/Zabi family and the fallout from the conclusion of the One Year War. Doesn't make anything they did right, mind you. In terms of armed insurgencies at least, I agree with above posters in that things would have turned out much better if Zeon had been properly crushed, with the ideology interred with the Zabi family and the military remnants and Axis removed from play before they could really become a refuge for that ideology's survival. What I get from these two posts is that this is less genetic in nature and more dealing with the aftereffects of what are Neo-Zeon leaders with PTSD and other severe mental issues that would probably give any psychologist the dream case study of a lifetime. Mixing in the nature of societal structures of Earth and it's less than stellar government or at least the appearance of less favorable societal and economic divides, the colonists are more than eager to throw in their lot with, as Bookends says of one of them, a basket case of big issues.Geez, I wonder if the writers of Gundam were trying to draw parallels with the more extreme right wing party members of Japan who survived and thrived after WWII.

It might have reduced some recruitment but the deathtoll from combat within the colonies and outside them might be close to that to Loum levels again and it might lead to just what survivors becoming just as radicalized by a desire to avenge people who died. It's kind of a no win situation as you get a possible view of the Federation after the Antarctic Treaty fought just as bad as the Zeons when it came to the Battle of Side 3. Of course there was the possibility of at that last desperation Zeon breaking open their nuclear arsenal, or threatening to, to buy time while more flee to Axis.

There might even be ANOTHER coup going on after the backstabbing spree in the days that lead to A Bao Qu which further disenfranchises survivors with the mythos of 'Traitors within lead to Zeon's downfall' and reaffirmed the believes of the fanatics to view any post war government as illegitimate. Click to expand.I fully agree with your turning around the usual Zeonist argument. All of UC, as I said, serves to demonstrate that, for good and bad, the Earth born remain Human as us in the real world. Which means that the Federation is just as bad as any Occidental government, but amplified by its size. Not the best system, to be sure, but far from the worse.Meanwhile, Spacenoids are going fucking insane at the drop of a hat. Cosmo Babylonia.
The Jupiter Empire. The list goes on and on.You need a soul weighted down by gravity, it seems. Because the alternative leads to genocidal maniacs even more easily than the Earthborn.I'll also note that, immediately post-OYW through to Stardust Memories, the Federation was doing fuck all to oppress Spacenoids. It was busy rebuilding, trying to get a handle on the Zeon Remnants and generally making sure that order was restored without purposefully stepping on anyone's toes. Then Gato stole the prototype his ex designed and nuked the Fleet. That's when the Federation got repressive. Because, obviously, leaving people alone to do their own things while the government just rebuilt the infrastructure and tried to figure out who was still alive wasn't the best way to ensure Zeon maniacs wouldn't go nuking entire fucking fleets when secret prototypes came up during pillow talk.I won't say that the Federation wasn't to blame for building the damn Nuclear equipped Gundam.

But it was just a test-bed to see if the technology/tactic was worthwhile, not something they actually planned on deploying in mass production.
The original is a fascinating series in many ways. It was one of the earliest works of the then fledgling studio and the series’ inception was by no means a smooth one. To look back then on the original work that created the global phenomenon that is is in part a history lesson but more an exercise in solid storytelling and characterization.Mobile Suit Gundam begins as the between the and the is still raging.

This is a war unlike any other in humanity’s history, as it is between people in new space-based nation states in orbiting colonies against those on Earth. In amongst this is a major technological advance to do with the particle. This not only allows for a much more accessible form of nuclear fusion but also at the expense of rendering modern tracking equipment, like radar and other electronics, almost unusable.Initially, the Zeon forces are ahead in terms of their Minovsky research and create a new kind of weapon called a.
